South Coast Tour

(Pickup time:  8:30 – 9:00 AM, approximately 10 hours long)

Main Sights:

  • Seljalandsfoss & Skogafoss waterfalls
  • Solheimajökull glacier
  • Reynisfjara shore and black sand beach
  • Vík village and sea stacks

There is so much to see when you explore the South Coast with us! See the dazzling Seljalandsfoss waterfall from all angles with a 360° walk-around view, and then traverse the stairs (if you dare!) for an over-the-top view of the Skogafoss waterfall. Get your taste of a glacial tongue as you walk up to see the magnificent Solheimajökull. As we enter the southernmost tip of Iceland, we will visit both the black sands of Reynisfjara and Vík village, where it will be hard to miss the sea stacks sitting just off the coastline.

Reykjanes Geopark

(Pickup time:  8:30 – 9:00 AM, approximately 6 hours long)

Main Sights:

  • Reykjanes peninsula & driving through lava fields
  • Kleifarvatn, Grænavatn lakes
  • Krýsuvík geothermal area
  • Brimketill lava cliffs
  • Gunnuhver steaming mud pools
  • Reykjanesviti Lighthouse & bird cliffs
  • The Bridge between the continents

Join us as we traverse the volcanic Reykjanes Peninsula, which is home to one of the most prominent lava outflows in the entire country! We will take you to the glimmering Kleifarvatn and Grænavatn lakes that straddle the Mid-Atlantic Ridge as well as the Krýsuvík geothermal area and the bubbling mud pools of Gunnuhver. Nearby is the oldest lighthouse in Iceland- Reykjanesviti, perched upon the Valahnúkar bird cliffs, which watches over the raging North Atlantic Ocean. Onto the Bridge between the continents where it’s possible to have a foot in two continents at the same time! After the tour, you will be dropped off back to downtown Reykjavík around 3:30 pm and you will have about 2,5 hrs to rest and refresh yourself before heading on the Midnight Sun Hot Golden Circle!

Midnight Sun Hot Golden Circle

(Pickup time:  5:30 – 6:00 PM, approximately 7-7,5 hours long)

Main Sights:

  • Þingvellir National Park
  • Gullfoss waterfall
  • Geysir hot spring
  • Haukadalur geothermal area
  • Secret Lagoon hot spring nature bath

Leave the crowds behind, and join us for a Midnight Sun experience you won’t forget! Taking a dip at the Secret Lagoon hot spring nature bath will leave you feeling relaxed and re-energized to visit the Golden Circle’s classic sights which are even more otherworldly in the perpetual night light hours! The Gullfoss double waterfall is not to be missed and also happens to be one of the origins of early environmental activism! We will visit the Haukadalur geothermal area, the stomping ground of the photogenic Strokkur geyser. You will be visiting Thingvellir National Park roughly shortly after midnight but the sky will still be bright! There you will see the continental divide and Iceland’s original parliament with absolutely no crowds around.

Special Offer price includes Secret Lagoon admission.

Please bring your swimsuit and towel (both can be rented if forgotten).

Special Offer online bookings are open until 5 days before your first tour date. If your first tour date is in less than 5 days, please send us an email at info@gtice.is and we will be able to book you through email.

3 tours in 2 days!

ErinR1980; Washington DC, District of Columbia

We booked 3 tours with this company as we only were in Iceland as a stopover with 2 full days and 2 partial days (arrival and departure days). Being summer, we had the opportunity to take 3 tours, though, as you can do the Reykjanes tour and then go on the midnight sun hot golden circle tour that same evening. We also did the South Shore Adventure. All 3 tours were fantastic with great guides - Andres F, Ian, and another whose name I cannot remember :( The sites were great, the guides informative and funny and interesting, offering both information as well as stories and commentary on Icelandic culture and history. I did not know initially when I booked where we would be staying, so had to secure the pick up location with the company by e mail after booking and was a little nervous about making sure we had the right location for each of the 3 tours, but it was no problem at all. The smaller groups also allow the guides to change things according to weather, crowds, and the preferences of the group, so the order might be changed a bit, which really helps to avoid downpours at certain sites or the largest crowds, etc. I recommend the midnight sun tour because it does maximize your time in Iceland if limited, plus the crowds are much smaller, and or someone of a more southern latitude, it is a really unique experience to be able to walk around at midnight with the sun still light enough to see the sites and take photos.
