Product Description

Are you on a vacation? Why not indulge in the Golden Circle tour – the relaxed way. We pick you up mid-morning, between 10:00 – 10:30 AM, and take you to see all the beautiful sights of the Golden Circle tour after the morning crowds had already come and gone. To top it off, we will visit a natural hot spring/pool where you can relax in the 38-40°C water, the Viking way.

On this Hot Golden Circle tour, we visit the three major sights of the Golden Circle.
First off – Thingvellir, site of the World’s first Parliament (Alþingi) that met each year, beginning in 930 AD and continuing until 1798. National Park Thingvellir is also a geological wonder, at this place two tectonic plates meet – the Eurasian and American plates. You will get the chance to see the edges of both plates and where they meet, with the possibility to take a short walk in between the plates! Next is the beautiful Gullfoss, Iceland’s pride and one of Europe’s largest waterfalls. At Haukadalur you will be able to stand up close to the erupting geyser, Strokkur. The last stop is Secret Lagoon, the hot spring nature bath. Locals named it that way because it has only been known to few, up until now.

A Truly enjoyable tour combining two of the best things Iceland has to offer: great scenery and a warm relaxing nature bath (there is a full facility with changing rooms, lockers and showers).

Price (including Secret Lagoon admission) is 13.500 ISK per person
Please bring your swimsuit and towel (both can be rented if forgotten).

Are you visiting Iceland in June or July? Then we highly recommend joining our Midnight Sun Hot Golden Circle tour so you can enjoy the Icelandic bright night and better utilize your day by doing a day tour and an evening tour. Midnight Sun Hot Golden Circle tour starts after Reykjanes tour returns back to Reykjavik. Check out also our Reykjanes tour.

“Very satisfactory experience”

As we had only one full day in Iceland, we booked a private full-day tour with Gateway to Iceland, on the recommendation of a friend who had used this company for a week-long stay in February. The people in the GTI office with whom I corresponded by email were very helpful in suggesting various alternatives and, ultimately, booking our tour. We were entirely satisfied with our experience. Bob, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and provided both historical and current information. Because I am a photographer, we opted for a private tour rather than the group Golden Circle Tour, in order to be able to take as much time as I wanted at various stops. Bob was very good at pointing out spots with interesting perspectives. Because we were not interested in bathing in the thermal pools, we had time to do some things that were a bit off the regular circuit and were quite interesting. It goes without saying that the scenery is spectacular, and we felt that Gateway to Iceland provided us with an excellent experience.

“HOT Golden Circle is the way to go!”

We loved this tour, both because our fabulous guide Hugi was informative, friendly, and fun; and because after a day of staring at and/or walking through amazing Icelandic scenery, we really needed that hot spring soak! Some form of Golden Circle tour was in our plan, but after some hunting we decided on Gateway to Iceland and this was a real winner. Four thumbs up (there were two of us).

“Breathtaking Golden Circle Tour”

With just one day in Reykjavik, it was hard to decide how to fill in the day. Eventually, we picked the Golden Circle tour, with tour guide Gummi. It was amazing. He showed us all the pretty places and sights, and his knowledge about Iceland is incredible. Visiting the geysers was one of the highlights, and Gummi knew exactly when they would explode. I really recommend this tour if you want to see the best of Iceland's beautiful nature in one day.

“Fist class tours with expert local guides”

Went on 3 tours with this company and received great value for money, loads of local information both historical and geographical. Would recommend the Ice lagoon, Hot Golden Circle tour and the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Would have gone on the other tours but ran out of time. We were taken to the most amazing scenery and allowed plenty of time.Much thought was put into the food stops where excellent homemade fare was on offer. The guides were really interesting and friendly and put a great deal of effort into making sure everyone had fun. Contrast this with the one trip we took with Gray Line where there was virtually no commentary. As with any trip on Iceland you should go prepared for any weather by wearing layers. Cameras are a must and your senses will be blown away by the scale and beauty of the landscapes. When we return to Iceland we'll be booking more of Gateway to Iceland tours.

“Golden Circle Tour”

Ian was our guide for this tour, a Scottish ex-pat who loves Iceland so much that he retired there 5 years ago. He took us on an interesting an entertaining tour that covered many of the must-see places in the southwest "Golden Circle" region of Iceland. We saw Thingvellir Park, Geysir/Strokkur, and Gullfoss. We had to fight crowds, as this is a very busy tourist route, but I felt that we were able to travel more comfortably because it was a small group of ~20 people. At the end of the tour, we relaxed in a "secret" hot spring- actually not that secret, but there were no large tour buses, so it was nice. It was a great way to see some spectacular sights, and I would highly recommend this company.

“Small group tours”

I wanted my golden circle tour to be a bit more personalized and smaller, and because of this I booked with Gateway to Iceland. They start their tour later in the day than the big bus companies, so when you get to the attractions, the crowds are much smaller. The addition of the secret lagoon at the end is also a ice touch, and wouldn't be possible with a large group. Our tour guide Gummi was very knowledgeable and personable. He always gave us more than enough time at each attraction, and fit in an awful lot without every rushing us. I would highly recommend the hot golden circle tour with this company to avoid the large buses and big crowds. You won't be disappointed.

“Excellent tour; Excellent guide (Bob) and excellent driver (lady from Slovakia)”

We were advised by our hotel to take this particular Golden Circle Tour and we were not disappointed in any way.

The company uses small mini-buses which makes the tour more personalised. Bob, our guide, was very friendly and informative providing a wealth of information at all the various locations the tour visited and was able to answer all questions posed.

The tour was not rushed in any way with plenty of time available at all the sights.

We were delighted to have selected this tour and would highly recommend it.

“Excellent choice”

We booked the Hot Golden Circle tour the day before we took it and came away from it very happy. Our guide, Fridrik, spoke great English and had many wonderful stories and anecdotes to tell.

The places we visited were Thingvellir, Geysir, Gulfloss and the Secret Lagoon. He gave us plenty of time to explore each place giving us tips on what to do, especially at Gulfloss. At the Secret Lagoon he had towels ready for us to borrow, which was a pleasant surprise.

We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly!

Very comfortable and enjoyable

Our day out with Börkur, our driver and guide, was a great success. We were picked up from our hotel in a comfortable mini-bus, with 15 others, treated to a knowledgeable commentary on the history, geography and geology of the golden circle and ended it with a swim in the secret lagoon, Iceland's oldest geothermal swimming pool. The timing of the tour avoided the crowds at each stop-off and the lovely fresh towels, provided for the swim, were a great touch. Many thanks to Börkur for a great day out.
