“Trip of a lifetime”

Simon W, Ashby de la Zouch, United Kingdom

Having booked the Porsmork and South Coast tour, We got picked up from our apartment in Reykyavik in our very own very large super jeep. our guide was Kiddi and he was fantastic the whole day - giving us a running commentary of the geography, geology, history and Icelandic Culture - riding in the super jeep was great, fording through rivers and up and down almost vertical slopes through the spectacular Porsmork valley. We drove up to the foot of the glacier underneath the Eyafjalljokul (Kevin for short!) volcano and saw the devastating effects of the flood following the eruption. We then went further up the valley, going on short hike up a rocky outcrop from where you had a fantastic view up and down the valley. We then went back down the valley and did mother short hike up a gully with a small river which we had to cross using stones in the river - several times - our kids ended up deciding that they didn't worry about getting their feet wet and enjoyed wading through the river then. We returned back past a big waterfall and because we had a bit of time to spare, Kiddi took us to meet a herd of iceland horses and finally up to the top of the mountain about the geothermal power station outside of Reykyavik where we were very luck as the weather had cleared and you could see approximately 1/5 of iceland! Kiddi bid us farewell back at our apartment we had had the trip of a lifetime.

“Super Jeep Thorsmork Tour – great fun! ”

Antoinette C, Ipswich, United Kingdom

We had been to Thorsmork before but really wanted to go by super jeep so we booked. Not quite sure what to expect, but it was really good fun! Our guide Gísli was very knowledgable about the area and Iceland as a whole. We felt safe and well looked after throughout the whole tour which was topped only by the fact that when we went to q walk, we saw an Arctic Fox about half a meter away from us! :-)
