Each Package is tailor-made based on your interests, requests, and duration of stay. We will send you a quote according to your desired itinerary.
Payment

Once you are satisfied with the itinerary and would like to confirm your package, we require a 10%, non-refundable down payment. The rest of the payment must be made no later than 1 month before your arrival.

Sample itinerary for one week

Below is just a taste of what your own personalized itinerary could look like….

 

Monday – Arrival

  • Pick up from the airport and transfer to downtown Reykjavík

Tuesday – Hot Golden Circle

  • Pick up at 10:00-10:30, approximately 8 hours long
  • Sights: Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring, Haukadalur thermal area and a bath in natural hot spring lagoon.

Wednesday – South Coast Tour

  • Pick up at 8:30-9:00, approximately 10 hours long
  • Sights: Seljalandsfoss & Skógafoss waterfalls, Sólheimajökull glacier, Reynisfjara beach & basalt columns, Vík.

Thursday – Snæfellsnes National Park

  • Pick up at 8:30-9:00, approximately 11 hours long
  • Sights: Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Gerduberg basalt columns,  the Stones of Trial at Dritvík and Djúpalónssandur beach (may not be accessible), spectacular bird cliffs & fishing hamlets Arnarstapi & Hellnar, Kirkjufell church-shaped mountain.

Friday – Glacier Lagoon

  • Pick up at 7:30-8:00, approximately 14 hours long
  • Sights: Vík village and sea stacks, Fjadrargljufur canyon (may not be accessible in winter), Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon (boat ride option in the summer – May to September).

Saturday – Reykjanes Geopark / Explore Reykjavík

  • Pick up at 8:30 – 9:00, approximately 6 hours long
  • Sights: Kleifarvatn, Grænavatn lakes, Krýsuvík geothermal area, Gunnuhver steaming mud pools, Reykjanesviti Lighthouse and Valahnúkar cliffs, The Bridge between the continents
  • Drop off at Blue Lagoon OR back in downtown Reykjavík
  • Explore Reykjavík in the afternoon/evening 

Sunday – Departure

  • Transfer from downtown Reykjavík and drop off at the KEF airport

I was referred to Gateway to Iceland from a friend who visited last November and had a great experience! We had an amazing time in which we were able to enjoy ourselves and not worry about having to plan what we were going to do next or how we were going to get there. Needless to say, I will be referring friends and family to this company as well, including a couple visiting this summer. I don't think we could have asked for a better week...perfect weather, friendly and knowledgeable tour guides on small group excursions (between 8 -16 people), great hotel accommodations and location, amazing views of the Northern Lights, gorgeous views of the country. Each guide was great - very knowledgeable and friendly making it an enjoyable experience. We actually even had one guide twice and little did we know (until halfway through the second excursion) he was the owner of the company. We learned so much about the culture, history and landscape of Iceland from him. He even helped me capture some gorgeous photos of the Northern Lights! I think it says a lot about a company when even the Owner is taking time to go explore the country with visitors. I highly recommend this company, you will not be disappointed!
