Description
Dine with the locals and experience Iceland in a unique way!
After being picked up from your location within the Greater Reykjavik Area, you will enjoy a scenic drive to a small town in the South of Iceland. You will feel right at home with this Icelandic family, who will entertain you with stories about general life in Iceland, history, culture and many interesting facts that will leave you filled with information that you wouldn’t necessarily get acquainted to on a normal tour around Iceland.
Once on location, the door to a classical Icelandic home will open for you and you will be treated to a traditional Icelandic dinner. Beautiful hosts, friendly atmosphere, and delicious food are what we promise, but you will go home with so much more than that.
“Matarboð” is the Icelandic Sunday-dinner tradition, repeated every Sunday in Icelandic households. Usually, the guests accept the invitations without knowing what meal will await them – however, we can inform you that the dinner is an all-Icelandic three-course meal, and the only information we need is whether you have any allergies or special dietary needs. (See sample menu below).
